Coming from an entrepreneurial family, Jeffrey Ong was always inclined to doing business. His family owned a number of successful businesses in their hometown of Dagupan City. In 1991, he attained the distributorship for GE Lightings for North Luzon and decided to open Crystalite Trading. From this humble beginning in Dagupan, came the JCP Group that we know of today.
By 1994, Crystalite Trading opened its Manila office and expanded its distribution reach to the whole of Luzon. It also became the choice distributor of several brands in the hardware and construction industry.
In 2002, it opened its Cebu office under Power Alliance Corp., which marked their expansion into the Visayas and Mindanao area. Subsequently, it invested in a stronger presence in the area by opening up offices in all the major Visayas cities.
It also established Jeron Distribution Group Inc. and Corner Hardware Corp. to manage their modern retail channel and importation business. These companies currently count as valued clients all the major supermarkets, DIYs and depots in the country.
By 2009, seeking to further grow the business in the Mindanao area, it decided to open the Cagayan de Oro and Davao offices. This truly established JCP Group as a nationwide distribution network, serving all possible channels in the country.
Currently, the company is the exclusive nationwide distributor of GE Lighting Philippines, Henkel’s Turco Rust Converter, Dutchboy Paints, Arix S.p.A. It is also a valued partner of several other brands such as Boysen Paints, Omni Lighting and Electrical, Phelps Dodge Philippines.
